There is no doubt that 2025 has been a hard year for Club level motorsport as the rising cost of living forces many to cut back on leisure spending and the cost of track hire and related fees rises. As we all know unfortunately, motorsport has never been a cheap hobby!
For the past 25 years, the Impreza WRX Club has worked hard to foster working relationships with other like-minded Clubs in order to reduce barriers to participation and to keep club-level motorsport as accessible as possible for as many members as possible.
With all this in mind, the Interclub (WRX Club, Southern Sporting Car Club & Alfa Romeo Owners Club) has been approached with a proposal that could mean significant changes to how our Supersprint Championship looks in the future.
The Committee feel this is something that should be discussed openly and transparently with our regular competitors, who would be affected and whose opinions we value, before we make any decisions.
We are holding an information / discussion / consultation evening for any members who would like to attend. Circuit bookings are being finalised currently for next year, so this is something that is quite urgent to resolve.
The meeting will be at Ryde Eastwood Leagues Club on a Tuesday night. Please feel free to meet for a meal beforehand and make a night of it – you are welcome to to purchase drinks at the bar and bring them upstairs to the meeting room.
Please register your attendance so we can make sure we have enough chairs etc. We will aim to kick off the meeting at 7pm.
