Always wanted to drive on a racetrack but thought it was too difficult, too scary, or you just never got around to organising it?
This is your chance! Or maybe it’s a chance if you’re an experienced supersprinter to introduce someone to the sport!
The Impreza WRX Club and Southern Sporting Car Club are running part of the next Supersprint event as an introduction for newcomers - Sunday evening, December 11th at 6:30pm, on the Amaroo Circuit at Sydney Motorsport Park.
There will be three normal, timed supersprint groups, as well as one for beginners, with no timing or competition of any kind. You will be required to have a passenger, who will be your instructor (and may be your sibling, parent, friend or someone appointed by the organisers).
The format being you will drive on the circuit, with this instructor, and share the circuit with others similar in experience to yourself. There will be four planned sessions (and maybe time for a fifth) of ten minutes each, roughly each hour, giving you time to assess what happened and plan the next session.
Your instructor needs to have supersprint or higher experience, so the event teaches you more than if you just had a fast drive.
If you don’t have a competition licence you will need a AASA day licence ($35) which is available online at aasa.com.au/licences and must be organised prior to the event.
You will need to know the car you are driving, your instructor (or if you want one appointed) and if that car will be running in the event in another group.
You and your instructor will need a helmet, clothing which is non-flammable and covers wrist to neck to ankle. Shoes need to be non flammable.

We look forward to seeing you there!
